Perfect Summer Tan! [Safe and Affordable]

Hello sweet friends!

It’s that time of the year again! Skin showing time! If you’re anything like me, your limbs have been covered in sweaters and leggings all winter long! This Georgia weather has been beautiful lately so I knew it was time to show the legs.

To get a natural looking tan, I have used Banana Boat Summer Color Self-Tanning lotion for years. About 5 years to be exact. I use the Deep Dark Color version but there is also a Light/Medium Color for lighter skin tones. This is a wonderful alternative to tanning beds! (I hate tanning beds but that’s a different story.)

Before I apply, I make sure that I shave and exfoliate. I apply a nice, even layer to the skin and let it dry before getting dressed. WASH YOUR HANDS! I am yelling at you because your palms will turn orange if you don’t.

I find mine at Target and Walmart but I have also seen it at drugstores. If you want to find it online click here.

The picture below shows that process. The far left is no product, the middle is about 5 minutes after application, and the right is 5 hours after application.

I will warn you, a few hours after this sets, it will have a self tan smell (it smells just like a spray tan if you have ever had one). I always keep it on for at least 12 hours before I shower. You can apply at night before bed but make sure it is dry and you have sheets you don’t mind getting the residual tan on. It does wash out of clothing and sheets pretty easily.

This is the best picture of a freshly applied self tan that I have!

Thank you so much for your support. Let me know if you have a favorite self tanning product! Happy self tanning!
